Furniture Point of View Feature and Link Party!

I am so excited to share with you today that I’m being guest featured with some amazingly talented bloggers in the Point of View monthly link party today!  I was so excited when Steph from Crafting in the Rain (who is also part of the Craftaholics Anonymous Creative Team with me!) asked me to take part because this month is all about FURNITURE!  You know I love a good furniture makeover and I was thrilled to be able to share Emma Grace’s dresser makeover.

For those of you stopping by from another blog hostesses of the party…Welcome!!  You can find all the details on the dresser makeover here.  The makeover started as a vision as soon as I found out I was expecting my baby girl.  You see I was the only girl in the house and the idea of being able to paint a piece of furniture bright pink made me one happy lady!!  I scoured Craigslist for weeks trying to find the perfect piece of furniture and I finally found it!

BEFORE - Custom Painted French Provencal Dresser by jRoxDesigns

Yepp a real looker huh?  Well don’t worry it was a reproduction so no real valuable antiques were harmed in the makeover!  With the help of my very talented hubby we sanded it down,  primed it, sprayed it a gorgeous pink and then for weeks I very slowly and steadily hand painted all the white trim.  Phew let me tell you, at the time I thought I was going to pass out from all the trim work but it kept me going and gave me something to look forward to while I battled through my HG.  After we finished painting we applied a couple of coats of a high quality clear coat to protect all of my hard work!  The verdict?  In just a couple of weeks Emma Grace will be celebrating her 2nd birthday and it looks just as perfect as the day we put the last clear coat on before we left for the hospital to have her!

It makes me smile every day I walk into her room and it was completely worth the insane amount of time I put into it!

I love the fact that without the white trim it would have been a gorgeous piece, but with it…I think it makes it amazing!

For all my loyal readers I know I’ve promised you an update on her room and I promise it is coming soon!  Over the last couple months I have finished her bookshelf, added a high hanging mobile feature out of paper lanterns like I had wanted to for months now…and so many more awesome projects that I can’t wait to share with you!
